Charlie Athanas
Charlie Athanas works in multiple creative disciplines and has exhibited in galleries, museums, and conferences around the world with both observational and interactive displays. He has made comic books, computer games, illustrated books and posters, and is currently working on a virtual reality application called "Dark Factory VR" with author Kathe Koja.
"Hidden Fire" is an acrylic painting that evokes a question and conveys an atmosphere. I have done a lot of work in the horror/fantastique genre ranging from designing posters for an all-horror theatre company I helped found (WildClaw Theatre) to set designs and production art for indie horror films and plays. The idea for this painting originally came from concept work on a graphic novel and I like this sketch enough to turn it into a finished work.
