lewis lain is a full-time narrative visual artist and illustrator living in Chicago's Rogers Park. His work is fanciful, fun and layered with a subtle story nestled in simple design. Since 2009, lewis has used recycled windows as canvas - frames to tell stories of worldview - for exhibits at Dittmar Gallery and One River Art School.
This painting was a part of the "Home Not Home" exhibit at Pilson Arts and Community House. 36 artists were asked to pick one of 36 poems/prose that resonated with them and respond with a piece of art inspired by those words. With the guidance of the good folks at AnySquared and Patch, 72 creatives came together in community to share our thoughts on "Home". The poem I selected is by Thulasi Seshan and is captured on the frame.
